I have read all three books and loved them. If you are a fan of the Musketeers, history, swashbuckling or just love a good read, you will love these books. R.A. Steffan does a wonderful job of grabbing you and pulling you into her stories. I laughed and I cried and now I anxiously await her next book.
After watching the BBC series-and truly missing it- I was thoroughly delighted to see these books available on . They were wonderful and brought me back to Paris of the 1600's. R.A. Steffan is a great story teller and pays great homage to Alexandre Dumas. Glad I found these books an hopefully she will continue the journey of THE QUEEN'S MUSKETEERS.
Read this entire series with enthusiasm...couldn't wait to get from one step in the journey to the next. It was a thrill ride from beginning to end which had me sitting on the edge of my seat, crying, laughing, and shouting with joy! It's got everything a good series should...action, adventure, romance and of course some handsome Musketeers. Fans of action/adventure, romance, history and the Musketeers will all find something to love here. I highly recommend this series and can't wait to see what R.A. Steffan has in store for us next!
I have read all three books (including the prequel) and loved each one. It is packed with all of the things great stories are made of (intrigue, sex, adventure, love, loyalty, etc.), which is what the Musketeers are all about. The development of the characters progress in each book and you truly find yourself relating to many of the situations they are experiencing. Definitely an entertaining series that you will enjoy and should not be passed up. I look forward to the next installment and so should you!!
If you have ever been a Musketeer fan, then you must read these books. Ms. Steffan has done a wonderful job of taking Dumas' characters and turning them into something much more real and exciting. These characters are updated yet never do you lose sight of the time period or the tragic things that went on during that time. These characters are fresh, fun but still thrilling in the tradition of the original Dumas book. I love the new way she portrays them. Milady is not the villain but a strong heroine with a horrid past that constantly haunts her. Athos, Aramis and Porthos are still the staunch, virulent men as in the books but have a wicked sense of humor and D'Artagnan is ever the hero, even if he doesn't believe it himself. Dear Constance is the very essence of a lady thrust into a situation she never dreamed she would be in and Queen Anne is the very definition of a queen, strong but resilient in the face of ever present danger. These books deliver everything you could want in an adventure. Her writing is precise and visually inspiring. If you are looking for a true escape into that time period, these proudly do it. Great job Ms. Steffan.
Its an interesting take on the Three Musketeers
These 3 books, as well as the fourth, held my attention. Waiting, not so patiently, for the next book.
